Basic Security Guard Course 40h

We run basic courses for professional security guards in Helsinki. Completion of the 40-hour basic course is a prerequisite for working as a security guard.

The basic course required to become a professional security guards takes 40 hours. To complete the course, attendance at all lessons is required.
No part of the basic course may be credited to previous studies or taken as self-study. Teaching and course materials are in Finnish.

Upon completion, students receive a training certificate, which is needed to apply for security guard certification provided by the police office. To qualify, applicants must be at least 18 years old, clean record and have successfully completed the course with police approval.

The basic training of a professional security guard is based on a curriculum defined by the Ministry of the Interior.

The training will cover theory, use of force, security inspection, first aid and rescue training. The trainees will be equipped with the necessary knowledge of the relevant industry legislation.
