Payment and delivery terms

1. Course Cancellation Terms and Registration
Registration and cancellation terms
Representatives of companies and private individuals can register for courses offered by LS Security Oy. The person registering is always responsible for the accuracy of the information provided in the registration. Once the registrant has entered the participant’s information, accepted the provided information along with the Payment and Administrative Terms, and paid the course fee, the registration is binding. If the registration is done via email, it is considered binding after LS Security Oy has received the email and responded. Registration can be canceled within the framework of the cancellation terms. Cancellation terms can be found in Section 5 below.

2. Requirements for Participation in Training
The registrant is responsible for ensuring that the course-specific requirements set by LS Security Oy and licensing authorities are met before registering for the course. If a company representative or another individual registers for the participant, the person making the registration is responsible for the participant meeting the requirements. The registrant is also responsible for the participant’s adequate language skills. More on language requirements can be found in Chapter 3. Information about licensing requirements in the private security sector and instructions for applying for licenses can be found on the police website at: https://polisi.fi/yksityisen-turvallisuusalan-luvat. LS Security Oy is not responsible for the requirements of participants to obtain license approvals nor guarantees that a candidate who has completed the course will receive a license from the authorities. Requirements regarding licenses and their applications must be clarified with the relevant licensing authorities before registration.

3. Language of Instruction
LS Security Oy uses Finnish as the language of instruction for all its courses. Requirements relating to the training language in private security qualifications are defined by the Ministry of the Interior regulation 878/2016. This regulation restricts the languages of instruction for the courses to Finnish and Swedish. LS Security Oy only organizes Finnish-language courses. No part of the course instruction or course exam can be translated to the participant, for example, into English. LS Security Oy does not take responsibility for the participant’s adequate Finnish language skills; the participant is responsible for ensuring they have sufficient skills to complete the course according to the Ministry of the Interior regulation. A minimum Finnish language level of B2.1 is recommended for the basic and refresher courses for security guards. If a participant interrupts the course due to insufficient language skills, the course fee will not be refunded.

4. Confirmation of Registration
LS Security Oy will send a confirmation message to all registrants regarding their registration for the course. The confirmation email will be sent to the addresses provided by the registrant, and the registrant is responsible for ensuring that the confirmation message is received. If the confirmation message does not reach the registrant, they should contact LS Security Oy at lauri@ls-security.fi. The confirmation message may end up in the registrant’s spam folder. If a participant does not attend or interrupts the course citing the confirmation email, the course fee will not be refunded.

5. Cancellation Policies
Firm registrations for courses can be canceled seven (7) days before the start date of the training. After that, half of the course price will be charged for canceled courses. Cancellations can only be made in writing via email to lauri@ls-security.fi. If the cancellation is made after the start of the relevant course, the full course price will be charged. A fee of 6 euros will be deducted from refunds for payments made through Klarna.

6. Refund of Course Fees
Course fees or parts thereof will only be refunded in cases where the cancellation terms provided in Section 5 have been followed. A fee of 6 euros will be charged for all cancellations, which will be deducted from the total amount pertaining to the cancellation. This fee applies to all payment methods.

Participation in Training

7. Attendance Obligation
Participants must be on time for classes and physically present throughout the duration of the course for it to be accepted.

8. Late Arrival to the Course
Course instructors have the right to deny entry to participants arriving late once the instruction has commenced. Participants are responsible for arriving on time according to the course schedule. Changes in weather conditions or public transport disruptions cannot be cited as reasons for lateness. Late arrivals may result in the participant being transferred to another upcoming course. More details can be found in Section 10, Transfer of Participation to Another Course.

9. Course Interruption and Absences
If a participant fails to inform about a missed part of the course, it will be deemed interrupted. If the participant interrupts the course for personal reasons, the course fee will not be refunded. If LS Security Oy needs to interrupt the course for reasons related to the participant, the course fee will not be refunded. If a participant falls ill during the course or cannot start it due to illness, they will be transferred to the next available course without extra fees. Illness must always be documented with a doctor’s certificate. If LS Security Oy cannot offer equivalent training within 2 months of the canceled course, the course fee will be refunded upon providing a medical certificate.

10. Transfer of Participation to the Next Course
Participants can be transferred to the next available course free of charge on a case-by-case basis as decided by LS Security Oy. The course must be fully paid before participation can be transferred. If the participant does not attend the course they were transferred to, subsequent registration may incur additional charges.

11. Insurance
Participants take part in LS Security Oy’s courses at their own risk. Participants must ensure before starting the training that their personal insurance covers the areas of force usage training. If registration is made by the participant’s employer or another company, the registrant must ensure the coverage of insurance. Remember to consult your employer about your insurance before the course begins. LS Security Oy’s liability insurance only covers damages caused by the mistakes or negligence of LS Security Oy’s instructors. Please note that you participate in our training at your own risk. It is advisable to ensure that your personal insurance also covers participation in force usage training. If your employer registers you for the course, they may be legally responsible for ensuring your coverage under the accident insurance purchased for employees. Confirm this with your employer. Securitas’s liability insurance covers only damages resulting from the organizer’s (Securitas Oy) errors or negligence.

12. Training Certificates
Certificates for training aim to be distributed at the end of the courses. If there are errors in the course certificates, efforts will be made to correct them on the same day. Certificates for courses ending in the evenings, on weekends, or holidays will be corrected on the next working day. A certificate can be issued to a participant whose course fee has been fully paid and who has successfully completed all parts of the course. A fee of 10 euros will be charged for sending a copy of the certificate if the original is lost.

In practice, this means, for example, a relevant educational institution responsible for degree assessments or an overarching organization related to the training, such as the Finnish Red Cross or the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
